Watch a Few Bad Eggs Ruin the PEZ Easter Egg Hunt See what happens when branded events turn rotten.

By Dan Bova

Ah, Easter egg hunts, they ain't all they're cracked up to be. This weekend, PEZ Candy had to cancel its annual Easter egg hunt in Orange, Conn., when a bunch of idiot parents showed up and ruined everything.

According to reports, little kids were pushed aside by egg-hungry adults who stormed the fields in search of the 9,000 hidden prizes. George Costanza would be so proud.

The idea was simple enough: the kids were broken into three age groups, and after a visit from the Easter Bunny, they would be released at separate times to hunt and have fun. But instead of waiting, a group of parents rushed into the fields before the event even started. Eggy mayhem ensued. Kids were pushed aside as the hard-boiled horror show played out.

One hunter Nicole Welch told CNN affiliate WFSB. "When my son left, he had a broken basket, and he was hysterically crying."

An onslaught of complaints popped up on PEZ's Facebook page, and the company offered a statement apologizing for the field of broken dreams: "Due to the actions of a few, the good intent quickly turned into a mess. I would like to sincerely apologize to each of our guests, this was not something created to frustrate or make people angry."

Happy Easter everyone!
