(Irvine, CA) December 4, 2007 – The number one business magazine on the newsstand for 2.5 years running has realized crossover success in South Africa with a 363% increase in sales of the licensed edition of Entrepreneur and two PICA awards recognizing its content and brand excellence. Since its launch in April 2006, the South Africa edition of Entrepreneur magazine has grown in sold copy circulation to 17,000 per issue, a triple-digit increase since its April 2006 launch. According to the Audit Bureau of Circulations, the magazine is one of the fastest-growing consumer magazines in South Africa. It is also the number-2-selling business magazine by issue at the newsstand and is projected to be No-1 by year-end. “The Entrepreneur message translates across the globe,” says Neil Perlman, president/COO of Entrepreneur Media Inc. “Whether in the U.S., South Africa or beyond, we focus on delivering world-class business content to meet the unique demands of entrepreneurs worldwide. Our success in this regard is underscored by the rapid growth of the magazine in a number of nations.” The Magazine Publishers Association of South Africa recently reinforced the achievements of the Entrepreneur edition in South Africa by presenting the publication with two PICA awards. Entrepreneur beat out several established magazine brands such as Popular Mechanics, Runner’s World and Golf Digest to take the award for International Special Interest (Male & Female). The magazine was also presented with the Philip Tyler Trophy for Best Launch against competitors in the consumer, B2B and customer publishing sectors. To take the award, Entrepreneur was recognized for excellence in key criteria such as content, presentation and achievement within the market in which the publication operates. “What Entrepreneur is about is consistently delivering the highest-quality content, and we’ll continue to penetrate the market by delivering on this brand promise,” says Andrew Honey, publisher of Entrepreneur in South Africa. Entrepreneur publications overseas, such as the one in South Africa, are licensed to use content from their U.S. magazine counterpart but also feature original content relevant and applicable to the entrepreneurial challenges of each particular region. Over seven regions now publish Entrepreneur and its associated media components, including Hungary, Mexico, Philippines, Russia, China, and the Middle East and North Africa (MENA). Developments are under way for a presence in India as well.
